Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM)

Condition-Based Monitoring is a maintenance strategy that tracks the real-time condition of equipment to determine when maintenance should be performed. Instead of following a fixed schedule, CBM uses data from sensors, inspections, and performance indicators (such as vibration, temperature, pressure, or oil quality) to identify early signs of wear or failure. This helps technicians detect issues before breakdowns occur, reduce unnecessary maintenance, and extend asset life. In maintenance management, CBM supports smarter decision-making, improves safety, and minimizes downtime by ensuring work is only carried out when it is truly needed.
